The Los Angeles Angels have the potential to be a dangerous team.
Off to a 12-7 start, the Angels lead the American League West division by a half-game over the Seattle Mariners.
Their four-game win streak has given them the second-best record in the AL as of now.
Things just seem to be clicking for the Halos.
The bats are booming, and they finally seem to have enough pitching to take them to the next level.
ESPN’s top MLB insider Jeff Passan has a theory as to why the Angels are so hot, and predicts that they could be a problem for other clubs down the stretch.
The Taylor Ward breakout is happening, and with Mike Trout being Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani heating up, Brandon Marsh looking like a guy and Anthony Rendon still with that pure swing, the Angels have a chance to be a real problem.
They will go as far as their bullpen takes them. https://t.co/xuc7fbpyel

Red-Hot Halos
It’s been since 2014 that the Angels were last in the postseason, and that year, they were swept in the ALDS by the eventual AL champion Kansas City Royals.
But they finally look like a team capable of winning a lot of games.
This is a good team with a lot of depth in their lineup and on their pitching staff.
They look ready to take the next step and be a team that can contend for their first World Series title since 2002.
With the Houston Astros struggling a bit to start the season, the Angels’ window to win is now wide open.
If Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, Brandon Marsh, Taylor Ward, and Anthony Rendon can keep hitting, this team could be a real problem in the AL West and could stand in the way of the Astros’ pursuit for their fifth division title in the last six years.
As Passan notes, their bullpen is the X-factor that will determine how far they can go in 2022.
