Reliever Tommy Kahnle is one of several solid pitchers out on the free agent market this winter.
The veteran right-hander was once one of the best relievers in all of baseball during his time with the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees.
In 2020, Kahnle began to deal with injuries and was limited to just one appearance.
He also missed the entire 2021 season and most of 2022.
The Los Angeles Dodgers took a chance on the veteran reliever last winter.
Unfortunately, he was still limited to just 13 games in 2022, but upon his return late in the season, he posted some solid numbers.
The right-hander had a 2.84 ERA in those 13 appearances, which according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman has led to him drawing some interest from several teams.
Tommy Kahnle has 10 plus teams expressing interest after strong September return with Dodgers (0.63 WHIP, 2.84 ERA). Ex Yankee also benefits from demand outstripping supply in relief market.

The Market For Kahnle
Heyman noted that at least 10 teams have expressed interest in the right-hander after a strong September return.
Heyman did not specifically name which teams had reached out to Kahnle, but it appears that his return in September turned a few heads.
A healthy Kahnle would be a big boost for teams seeking relief pitching help.
His solid September bodes well for him as we move along in the offseason.
Winter meetings take place in San Diego next week.
By then, Kahnle could potentially find a new home with a team that has relief pitching on its offseason shopping list.
The Dodgers could end up being one of those teams.
The Yankees could also come calling for the right-hander’s services, as they will be without Scott Effross in 2023.
