The Toronto Blue Jays now find themselves in need of an outfield bat after trading away Teoscar Hernandez.
The All-Star outfielder is headed to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for pitchers Adam Macko and Erik Swanson.
But the Blue Jays’ work is not yet done.
One player to potentially pay attention to as Friday’s deadline to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players approaches is Cody Bellinger, who is a candidate to be non-tendered by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
On Twitter, Jon Morosi mentioned that the Blue Jays could be a possible destination for Bellinger if he is non-tendered and noted that Rogers Centre is a favorable ballpark for hitters.
The #BlueJays are one team to watch on Cody Bellinger if he is non-tendered; they are known to have interest in FA Brandon Nimmo.
The Jays want to add a left-handed bat in the outfield, and Rogers Centre is a great place to revive one's offensive numbers. @MLBNetwork

Bellinger Could Be A Fit In Toronto
Bellinger could be a potential fit in Toronto if he is non-tendered.
Of course, the Dodgers could still tender him a contract and keep him around.
But with his lack of production over the past three seasons, the Dodgers may have other ideas.
That is where the Blue Jays fit into all of this, as they are currently searching for an outfield bat, but in particular, a left-handed bat.
Morosi notes that the Blue Jays have been checking in on Brandon Nimmo.
With Rogers Centre being a favorable ballpark for hitters, it could prove to be a match made in heaven for Bellinger as he attempts to regain his form from 2019, when he was named the National League MVP.
The 27-year-old hit 19 home runs during the regular season, but hit for a poor .210 average and had a less than stellar OPS of .654.
