It won’t be long now before Jacob deGrom makes his return to the New York Mets.
Arguably the best pitcher in all of baseball, deGrom has not pitched since August of last season, when he began experiencing elbow troubles.
After those were under control and he was prepared to make his return in 2022, he was scratched from his final spring training start after suffering a stress reaction in his right shoulder.
But since then, deGrom has been working his way back from his injury and has made a few rehab starts.
Joel Sherman of the New York Post revealed on Twitter when deGrom will be making his next rehab start.

deGrom Set For Next Rehab Start
It looks like deGrom is getting closer.
His next rehab start is Thursday, as Sherman mentioned in his tweet, and he’ll make that start at Triple-A Syracuse.
If where he’s pitching ultimately is any indication of where he’s headed, then deGrom is getting close, and that’s good news for the Mets.
Max Scherzer is already back from his injury and is dominating.
The Mets can only hope that deGrom’s return brings the same thing.
deGrom went 7-2 last season and posted a 1.08 ERA in 15 starts before being shut down for the remainder of the season due to his elbow troubles.
He was an early favorite for the National League Cy Young Award before being injured.
At long last though, he seems to be making some progress and inching ever closer to the moment where he makes his return to a big-league mound.
The Mets will certainly welcome deGrom back with open arms, as he should be the final piece that makes the Mets rotation one of the best in baseball.
