The roof at Minute Maid Park in Houston has turned into somewhat of a meme after Martin Maldonado commented on it being open for Game 2 of the ALCS.
That was a night where he picked up a hit and commented that he was glad it was open.
So, when the series shifted to New York after the Houston Astros had taken the first two games, fans joked and said that the roof would be open at Yankee Stadium.
But with the World Series starting in Houston, it appears that the roof will in fact be closed for the first two games of the series.
The roof will be closed for World Series Games 1-2 at Minute Maid Park.

Astros Will Close Roof For Games 1 and 2
How that will affect the games is unknown at this point.
Sometimes the ball carries in certain weather.
Sometimes even something as simple as a roof being opened or closed can cause the conditions of the game to change and for different things to happen that may not happen in other conditions.
But as much as it has become a meme, it still is a factor for various games, especially in Houston.
The roof is obviously retractable at Minute Maid Park, so whether it’s opened or closed can have an effect on games.
For now, the roof will be closed.
But if the series does return to Houston for additional games, then we could potentially see the roof opened.
It’s hard to predict at this point.
All we know right now is that the Astros plan on having the roof shut for the first two games.
