The Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres are set to square off in the NLCS.
The Phillies find themselves in it for the first time since 2010, while the Padres are in it for the first time since 1998.
Of course, there are other storylines as well, one of which centers around the Nola family.
Two brothers, Austin and Aaron Nola, will square off against each other and will likely face off in Game 2 on Wednesday when Aaron takes the mound for the Phillies.
MLB insider Jon Morosi revealed an exciting update about the two brothers, that both of them could end up joining Team Italy for the World Baseball Classic.
Aaron Nola vs. Austin Nola is a great storyline of the NLCS — and they could play on the same team as early as the spring, if they opt to represent Italy together at the 2023 @WBCBaseball. 🇮🇹 @MLBNetwork

Could Nola Brothers Team Up?
This would be yet another exciting storyline.
The Classic takes place in March of 2023 and will feature the best baseball players from all over the world representing their country’s national team.
It’ll certainly be exciting to see these two square off in the NLCS.
But next March, they could end up being on the same team, at least for the World Baseball Classic.
You can bet that Austin and Aaron’s parents will be excited to see that if it comes to pass.
For now, they’ll watch their sons square off in the NLCS, but it would be exciting to see these two join forces for the Classic in March, especially after what should be a thrilling NLCS.
They could even work together as pitcher and catcher.
That would be a deadly battery.
It would be fun to see these two working together to try and strike out hitters and win games for Team Italy.
We’ll have to wait until March to see if that pans out.
