The starting pitcher’s market is beginning to pick up some steam.
Carlos Rodon is the top starting pitcher out on the free agent market, but that doesn’t mean that other pitchers won’t sign soon.
One starter that is still unsigned as of now is veteran right-hander Noah Syndergaard.
The 30-year-old appeared in 25 games during the regular season and made 24 starts with the Los Angeles Angels and Philadelphia Phillies.
The right-hander finished with a 10-10 record and a 3.94 ERA.
According to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, the market for Syndergaard is starting to pick up.
Heyman noted that there are currently four MLB teams who are in on the right-hander.
Noah Syndergaard market moving now. Four teams in heavy. Starters are obviously thriving based on low supply. Still on market: Rodon, Eovaldi, Syndergaard, Wacha, Greinke, Smyly, R. Hill. Z. Davies, Kluber, Pineda, Lyles, Minor, Lugo, Lorenzen.

Thor’s Market Moving
Heyman did not specify which teams were in the mix for Syndergaard, but there may be some teams that could use Syndergaard’s services in 2023.
The Boston Red Sox are one such team.
Three of their starters from the 2022 season, Nathan Eovaldi, Rich Hill, and Michael Wacha, are all free agents.
There could be a spot waiting for Syndergaard.
Perhaps the Angels, who took a chance on him last offseason, could find a fit for him.
Syndergaard was traded to the Phillies at the trade deadline.
The right-hander has dealt with more than his fair share of injuries over the course of his career, but finally appeared to be healthy in 2022, which could ultimately earn him a decent deal for 2023 and potentially beyond.
The 30-year-old began his career with the New York Mets before departing via free agency.
