Though the Cleveland Guardians were quiet during the offseason, there is still some hype surrounding their first Opening Day with their new name.
Academy Award Winning actor Tom Hanks is going to be in Cleveland for the team’s home opener and will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch when the Guardians play host to the San Francisco Giants.
That’s exciting enough as it is, but with all the talks surrounding a contract extension for their star third baseman Jose Ramirez, it could be even sweeter.
What if Ramirez gets his contract extension before the team’s home opener?
How would fans react to that on top of the news that Hanks is going to throw out the first pitch?
Pretty cool that Academy Award winner Tom Hanks will throw out the first ceremonial pitch at the Cleveland Guardians' home opener celebrating their new nickname. It will even be cooler if All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez receives a contract extension keeping him in Cleveland.

Hype Up The Fanbase
This is one way to get the fans in Cleveland hyped up.
Imagine the reaction from the fanbase over having their star extended and then Hanks coming to town.
How can that be bad?
Cleveland fans will be overjoyed if that is the case.
The Guardians didn’t do a whole lot in the offseason and look more like a fringe contender entering the 2022 season, but if they want to build a winner in the future, there is no better place to start than to extend Ramirez’ contract and keep him in Cleveland a little while longer.
Fans would be ecstatic if such an agreement was reached.
Going into the home opener knowing that your star has been extended and that you’ll get to see Tom Hanks live would be a dream scenario for Guardians fans.
There’s always a way to make your fanbase happy, and that’s just one of them.
We’ll see if the Guardians’ brass gets the message.
