Team USA has been a force this spring in the World Baseball Classic.
As defending champions, they have a little something to prove.
They’ll match up with Team Venezuela on Saturday night in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The team has largely been carried by slugger Mike Trout, who is competing in his first ever World Baseball Classic.
The Los Angeles Angels star certainly has not disappointed so far.
MLB Network insider Jon Morosi is certainly impressed by what he has seen out of the three-time American League MVP.
On Thursday, he discussed what he’s seeing from the star slugger and how it has helped Team USA.

Morosi echoed the common sentiments of years past, with so many people having wanted to see Trout compete in the WBC.
This year is his first experience.
Morosi then discussed how Trout has been leading the way for Team USA.
In their most recent game against Colombia, the three-time MVP led the way for the Americans, picking up three hits and driving in all three Team USA runs as they held on for a 3-2 win to advance to the quarterfinals.
Trout has also been solid on defense, making some incredible plays in center field.
Morosi talked about how Trout is representing the sport and the tournament in the best way possible, both in terms of production and character.
In each interview he has given, Trout has made it clear that he thoroughly enjoys playing for Team USA.
He’s currently leading the team with six RBI, an on-base percentage of .588, and a slugging percentage of .833.
