MLB has officially locked out the players and that means no one can go to work.
It is the offseason, but players still workout and get treatment at team facilities.
So that is a major problem not being addressed by the league.
MLB has even taken it one step further to drive home the point that they have no players at the moment.
They decided to get really petty for no good reason.
Lockout announced and no more mentions of current players on the front pages of MLB sites. Links to roster pages gone too, and no more headshots. pic.twitter.com/T1DPojNWN5

All the headshots of players are gone and every single team site has zero stories about active players.
MLB.com is the same way in what is a bizarre sight for baseball fans.
Players Trying To Have Fun With It
This is both hilarious and frustrating.
It is funny because of how silly it is to remove headshots and act like that is some big statement.
Someone within the league made this decision in what amounts to a giant waste of time.
But it is frustrating because it shows how dug in the league is to prove a point.
Players have to be frustrated as well, and some are already making light of the headshots, or lack thereof.
Some great trolling by these big leaguers with the MLB committee having to remove the players headshots from their profiles 😂 pic.twitter.com/czmyxYZ0jO

Maybe players leaning into it and poking fun at MLB will let the league see how silly this decision was.
Nothing is hidden in the age of the Internet and MLB, by making this decision, has left its team of writers with a long winter of evergreen content to write.
That isn’t fun for anyone.
This league has taken a ton of criticism over the years for how it fails to market its players.
Now, months are going to pass without any promotion by the league itself following a huge flurry of free agent moves.
That is awful for business and luckily, players have a platform to respond and call out the silly decisions by MLB.
