MLB free agency is always a fun time of year.
While fans may be bored out of their minds as a result of there being no games to watch, there are at least some big deals being signed by teams.
The most recent major signing was Carlos Correa late on Tuesday night.
The veteran shortstop inked a 13-year, $350 million deal with the San Francisco Giants.
But this free agency season has been one for the ages.
Alden Gonzalez of ESPN posted on Twitter that there have been 13 total $280-plus million guarantees throughout the history of baseball.
Five of them have been signed in the last 13 months.

How Free Agency Has Evolved
In recent years, free agency has been reaching historic levels.
Players are signing quickly and are taking large deals.
What makes the fact that five such deals have been signed over a 13-month period interesting is that four of them have been signed this month.
Aaron Judge, Xander Bogaerts, Trea Turner, and Correa have all received contracts worth $280 million or more.
Dansby Swanson and Carlos Rodon are likely soon to follow, which would take the total over the last 13 months to seven.
Ultimately, this is what teams are doing in order to build a contender.
Costs are rising, players are demanding more, and some teams are more willing than others to make such a huge commitment.
The Giants are the latest example with the Correa signing.
There are still a few high-profile free agents that have yet to sign.
it’s very likely that they will receive a hefty amount of money in their new deals.
