MLB The Show 2023 will be adding the Negro Leagues to the gameplay experience, and baseball fans can’t be more excited.
The Negro Leagues represent a sad part of American history in the bigger scheme of things because they are the symbol of segreation in baseball.
However, they also represent a fascinating part of American baseball history and the home of many extremely talented players in the first half of the 20th century.
Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, Monte Irvin, Larry Doby, Don Newcombe, Roy Campanella, Hank Aaron, Josh Gibson, and several more stars played there at one point of their careers.
Another true star of the Negro Leagues back in the day was left-handed pitcher John Donaldson.
“In honor of MLB The Show adding the Negro Leagues to the game, let’s take a look at how dominant John Donaldson was,” The Game Day MLB tweeted.

Just take a look at those stats.
That’s quite an impressive career, starting from the part that he played for 30 years.
To play for that much time and have a 1.37 ERA is nothing short of amazing.
And if you question the level of competition, just go up and take a look at some of the players who were in the Negro Leagues at the time.
Many of them went on to have successful careers at the MLB level.
Donaldson also accumulated more than 5,000 strikeouts: Nolan Ryan is the only pitcher who can say that in Major League Baseball.
Also, 14 no-hitters are an unbeliveable feat.
Some people who saw him say he was one of the best pitchers who ever lived.
His name should be mentioned and recognized as such.
