It’s September and we have some tight races brewing in the standings.
Teams are making their final push towards October and pulling out all the stops in order to get to the postseason.
One such race that has become a little bit more interesting to watch, as if it wasn’t already, is the National League Wild Card race.
While whoever finishes in second place in the NL East will win that race and take the top spot by a landslide, whether it be the New York Mets or Atlanta Braves, there’s still a tight race for the final two spots.
The Philadelphia Phillies hold the second spot and lead the San Diego Padres by a half-game.
But after a huge doubleheader sweep yesterday, the Milwaukee Brewers have gotten themselves back into the picture.
They sit just 2.5 games behind San Diego for the final spot.

NL Wild Card Race One To Watch
This is getting exciting.
While two of the three divisions in the National League look pretty well in hand, the Wild Card race is a different story.
There are three teams fighting for two spots right now.
One will be left on the outside looking in when all of this is over.
The calendar may be winding down, but the race sure isn’t.
We’ve got a long way to go as these three teams fight for two spots.
That extra Wild Card spot has created a little extra drama in the postseason race and has led to some tight battles in the standings.
This is going to get fun in the next couple of weeks.
We’ll see who ultimately comes out on top and who ends up going home and missing the postseason.
