Thursday, March 30 is a big date for MLB fans.
After several grueling months of waiting, the league will have its Opening Day on that date.
The World Series was exciting, the offseason was entertaining, and the World Baseball Classic should be a thrill to watch.
However, nothing beats the feeling of Opening Day in MLB.
All 30 teams will be taking the field that day, and baseball fans are licking their chops.
We know all this at this point, but we don’t know who will win.
We don’t know who will have the first strikeout, the first double, or who will score the first run.
Another fun exercise would be guessing who will hit the first home run of the 2023 campaign.

There are two games at the 1:05 p.m. ET slot: the San Francisco Giants will go to the Bronx and visit the New York Yankees; and the Washington Nationals will host the Atlanta Braves in the nation’s capital.
It’s very likely that the first home run of the year will come in one of those two games.
Betting on Aaron Judge would be smart money: the Yankees slugger hit 62 homers in 2022 to lead MLB and is eager to pick things right where he left them.
Joc Pederson could strike first, though, as he is a notable power hitter with loads of experience.
Austin Riley or Ronald Acuna Jr. are strong candidates to do it with the Braves, but why not Joey Meneses of the Nats?
Or Keibert Ruiz?
We will find out who hits the first blast of the season in a few weeks.
