NBA and NFL fans can usually enjoy games whenever they like.
They have many options to watch, from standard cable alternatives to streaming platforms.
The vast majority of the time, however, they won’t encounter any issues to enjoy their favorite team’s games.
That’s not necessarily the case for MLB fans, though.
The league doesn’t necessarily do a good job making its product available to fans most of the time.
Yes, regular chains and networks still have the right to broadcast and air a lot of games, but it’s becoming harder and harder every year, especially recently.
Now, YouTube TV subscribers will no longer be able to watch MLB’s go-to channel, MLB Network.
That’s a real shame and it’s definitely not good for the game.
“So apparently YouTube TV subscribers are about to lose access to the @MLBNetwork. It’s incredible how hard @MLB works at trying to prevent fans from watching their games & viewing their content. It’s just mind-numbingly stupid and yet somehow fascinating,” baseball fan Chuck Brownson tweeted.

With the latest news, MLB Network will lose a sizable portion of its viewers, which is never good.
Last year, it was the league selling rights to a private streaming app on a specific day, complicating things for older, more traditional audiences that are used to putting their TVs on their regular baseball or sports channel to enjoy games.
Now, 2023 is not exactly starting off on the right foot.
These are things MLB will definitely have to work on if it ever wants to reach bigger audiences.
It’s fine to grow to other platforms, but they should do it without forgetting about the regular ones.
