The NFL world has been in a state of shock since last night, when Buffalo Bills defender Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field after a play.
After taking a hit, he had initially gotten up, but collapsed to the ground just a few seconds later.
He received medical attention on the field last night and was then taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The whole sports community, including MLB, have been closely monitoring his status and situation since the sad scene popped up on everybody’s TVs.
“We’re all in Damar Hamlin’s corner today. All of us across MLB are thinking of Damar, his family, his teammates and all those in the @NFL,” MLB tweeted while quoting a Mike Trout tweet.

Per the Bills, “Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.”
That update came late at night.
The team has since updated the player’s status and condition.
“Damar Hamlin spent last night in the intensive care unit and remains there today in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. We are grateful and thankful for the outpouring of support we have received thus far,” they tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.
