After winning their second World Series title in the last six years this past October, the Houston Astros look prepared to make yet another run to the Fall Classic and potentially capture another crown.
Despite losing Justin Verlander, the team still has plenty of pieces in place that are holdovers from the 2022 team.
They also added Jose Abreu on a three-year deal to strengthen their offense.
The team is in a good position to potentially repeat as World Series champions.
On MLB Network, analysts Chris Young, Dan Plesac, and Melanie Newman discussed the Astros’ outlook for 2023 and whether or not they could emerge victorious in the Fall Classic again.

Plesac stated that he believes the Astros will not repeat as World Series champions just because it’s so hard to do.
The last team to repeat as world champions in Major League Baseball was the New York Yankees, who had a three-peat from 1998-2000.
Houston has reached the World Series in back-to-back seasons.
Young chimed in and said that it’s always possible for it to happen.
The Astros have won four American League pennants and two World Series titles in the last six seasons.
Houston has continued to prove that they are a powerhouse and should not be taken for granted as they look for more success.
Young discussed how the Astros have been able to withstand the losses of George Springer and Carlos Correa and continue to win.
For example, Houston had Kyle Tucker, Chas McCormick, and Jeremy Pena waiting in the wings.
Repeating as World Series champions is no easy task, but the Astros come into 2023 with a chance to replicate their success.
