Oakland sports fans have been through a lot of pain lately, and it doesn’t appear to be getting any better anytime soon.
Over the past three years, they’ve had to hear a lot of things they probably didn’t want to hear.
Since 2019, the Raiders have moved to Las Vegas, the Golden State Warriors have moved to San Francisco, there have been rumors of the Oakland A’s moving to a new city, with a relocation plan for a new ballpark not being in motion yet, and the team has also let Mark Canha, Marcus Semien, Matt Olson, Matt Chapman, and Chris Bassitt go via trade or free agency.
One MLB insider details the pain Oakland fans are currently feeling.
Since 2019, Oakland sports fans have watched
• Raiders move to Las Vegas
• Warriors move to SF
• A’s let Marcus Semien and Mark Canha walk
• A’s relocation rumors (still don’t have a formal stadium plan in motion)
• A’s trade away Matt Olson, Matt Chapman, Chris Bassitt pic.twitter.com/IbmOgJzWkv— Danny Vietti (@DannyVietti) March 16, 2022
The Pain Continues
It’s not about to get any easier for Oakland fans, as it’s looking more and more likely that the A’s will continue their fire sale, tearing their team down and beginning a rebuild soon.
And with the A’s potentially moving, it’s probably going to get worse before it gets better.
Being an Oakland sports fan just isn’t easy these days, and there’s bound to be more pain here in the near future.
It may be a while before something good happens in Oakland, as the A’s are really their only team at the moment, and with players being traded away at a rapid rate and rumors continuing to circulate about them moving out of Oakland, it may not be long before the city has no sports teams left.
They certainly don’t have any good teams at the moment.
And you can’t help but feel sorry for Oakland sports fans.
This is a tough period for them, one that no city ever wants to go through.
