The World Baseball Classic will be here before we know it.
Pitchers and catchers who are competing in this event will report to spring training early, arriving at camp on Monday, February 13.
There is a lot of focus on Team Japan, Team USA, and the Dominican National Team as we get set to enjoy the WBC for the first time in six years.
But Team Italy may be an interesting team to watch.
While most of Major League Baseball’s stars will be playing for one of the teams mentioned above, Team Italy has their fair share of talent.
This morning, MLB Network’s Jon Morosi broke down the team and its roster and who could ultimately make the biggest impact.

On the roster are stars such as Trey Mancini, Nicky Lopez, David Fletcher, Max Stassi, Vinnie Pasquantino, and Jordan Romano.
The team will be managed by none other than Hall-of-Famer Mike Piazza.
But one player that Morosi was particularly high on was outfielder Sal Frelick.
Frelick is the top prospect in the Milwaukee Brewers organization and could potentially make his debut in 2023.
His grandparents are both of Italian descent, as Morosi pointed out.
Here, he’ll have a chance to prove himself and also learn from some seasoned MLB veterans.
But beyond Frelick, the Italian National Team looks pretty solid and has a strong nucleus of players in place as they look to take home the WBC title.
Team USA won back in 2017.
But under Piazza, Team Italy could surprise some people this spring.
