The New York Jets are going with Mike White at quarterback once again this week as rookie Zach Wilson continues to recover from a knee injury.
Yet the secret is out that White gives the Jets the best chance to win.
Robert Saleh knows that and while Wilson can learn from the sidelines, the team may have a problem on their hands if White goes out and lights it up once again Sunday.
White was an unheard of name for most NFL fans before he replaced Wilson and threw for 400 yards in a win over the Cincinnati Bengals a few weeks back.
But White himself has always been confident in his abilities and made quite the statement about anyone who doubted him during the 2018 NFL Draft.

White believes he should have been a first overall pick instead of a fifth-rounder and if he leads the Jets to some victories this month, he may get a chance to be the first overall quarterback on the depth chart.
A Potentially Tough Decision
The fact Wilson is recovering from an injury means Saleh can start White without much controversy.

But once Wilson is fully healthy, questions will be asked if the No. 2 overall pick stands and watches from the sidelines.
The goal in the NFL should always be to put the best team on the field in order to win.
If White is the best quarterback on the roster, he should play.
Yet obviously this decision goes beyond that because of the commitment made to Wilson with such a high draft pick.
It would take White playing like a first overall pick for him to actually win the job on a full-time basis heading into 2022.
If the confidence is there, who knows what could happen as the Jets are just trying to do whatever it takes to win some games in 2021.
