Mike Trout has dealt with several injury-related issues over the past few seasons, but that hasn’t been enough to slow down the Los Angeles Angels slugger and former MVP.
Trout hit a solo shot in the bottom of the first inning last night as the Halos beat the Detroit Tigers by a final of 5-4.
It was his only hit in four at-bats, but he certainly made it count.
It was the 31st home run of the season for Trout, which puts him at third most in the American League.
The interesting part about that though is the fact that he has actually played fewer than 100 games this season.

Trout’s Dominance
Imagine how many home runs Trout might have if he hadn’t hit the injured list.
But even in the midst of injuries, Trout remains one of the most productive players in all of baseball.
In addition to his 31 home runs, he’s hitting .275 with 61 RBI and a .971 OPS.
He and Shohei Ohtani have been carrying the Angels this season in the midst of all their struggles.
The former MVP still isn’t showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon and remains one of baseball’s top five hitters.
The fact that he’s been able to still hit 30+ home runs is impressive, but it mainly speaks volumes to the abilities of Trout and what he has been able to do during his career.
He’s putting up Hall of Fame numbers and has already entrenched himself as one of the greatest to ever play the game of baseball.
We’ll see if he can stay hot and keep hitting home runs.
Despite the Angels’ struggles, Trout is still an exciting player to watch.
