The Los Angeles Angels are streaking.
Yes, that’s right: LA has won their last seven games in a row.
Too bad their reaction came a little too late, after they were eliminated from playoff contention.
It’s like competing is a burden for the organization, and once they are no longer in the race, they relax and start playing great baseball.
Now, the Angels are 73-86 and will finish third in the AL West.
It’s never too early to start setting the foundation for next season, however, and that’s with the manager.
Trout Appears To Have Phil Nevin’s Back
With that in mind, star player Mike Trout recently had some endorsement for his current manager, Phil Nevin.
“Mike Trout on Phil Nevin: ‘Phil’s been doing a great job. He takes care of the players. Doing a good job with managing. He’s fun to play for.’ Trout said the Angels front office does ask him for his opinion on stuff like that,” The Athletic’s Sam Blum, who covers the Angels on a daily basis, tweeted.

Nevin took over when the front office fired Joe Maddon in the middle of an epic losing streak.
He has compiled a 45-57 record as a manager in his debut season.
Will that be enough to land him the full-time job in the offseason?
It’s hard to tell at this point, but at least he appears to have the support of one of the best players ever to put on a uniform.
The Angels haven’t gone to the postseason since 2014, and whoever is at the helm will have that as the priority.
The franchise has wasted enough years of Trout and Shohei Ohtani‘s peak already.
