Despite getting quite hot in the final stretch of the season, the 2022 Pittsburgh Steelers failed to reach the playoffs.
Even so, they managed to keep Mike Tomlin’s impressive winning season streak alive.
The Steelers coach now sits at the first spot with 16 non-losing seasons, the most in NFL history ahead of legends like George Allen (12), Curly Lambeau (12), Don Shula (12), and Marty Schottenheimer.

Three of those coaches are now in the Hall of Fame.
More impressively, the Steelers look destined to put an end to that streak this season after starting the year 2-6.
But as it usually happens with Tomlin’s teams, he found a way to get to the guys, make adjustments, and finish the season on a high note:
“We were an evolving group. And that evolution continued even into today,” Tomlin said after the final game of the season. “I’m just appreciative of the collective. I’m appreciative of the men, not what they’re capable of but what they’re willing to do in the face of adversity. Hopefully, we learned something. Hopefully, we taught others something in the midst of our journey.”
Moreover, the final stretch of the campaign gave Steelers fans something to look forward to next season.
Kenny Pickett finished the year with some impressive performances, and their offense showed some signs of life.
Of course, his development will also depend on whether they decide to part ways with OC Matt Canada or not, as he’s done little to prove he should keep that job beyond this season.
