The New York Jets and Green Bay Packers are taking their time with the potential Aaron Rodgers trade.
Rodgers said a while back that he plans to play for the Jets in 2023.
But the two sides have yet to come up with an agreement on fair draft compensation.
It makes sense that the NFL Draft on April 27th would be the deadline for a deal.
Something will have to get done by then so the draft picks exchanged can be used in this draft.
One of the picks that might be holding things up is the Jets’ 13th overall pick.
According to Mike Greenberg, the Jets do not want to give that up and plan on waiting until the Packers lower their price.
"The Aaron Rodgers trade all comes down to that 13th overall pick in the draft..

The Jets must hold onto their 13th overall pick.
As Greenberg mentioned, it can be used to draft a day-one starter on the offensive line.
Also, there is no reason the Jets should have to give up that much for a 40-year-old quarterback.
There is no guarantee on how many more seasons Rodgers will play, so keeping as many draft picks as possible is crucial.
If the Jets can land Rodgers, he will immediately vault them into contention next year.
They will be competitive in the AFC East and should be a wild-card team at worst.
Everyone is patiently waiting for this monumental trade to go through, and it should be done within the next few weeks.
