After last season, Sean Payton, the longtime head coach of the New Orleans Saints, called it quits.
Since then, there have been many rumors that he may return to the sidelines for some team in the NFL, and according to Mike Florio, there is one team that would be a very good fit for him – the Los Angeles Chargers.

Florio mentioned the fact that the Chargers have lots of weapons, especially on the offensive side of the ball, including quarterback Justin Herbert.
A Match Made In Heaven
Herbert is considered one of the league’s truly elite QBs, and through seven games he has thrown for 2,009 yards and 12 touchdowns, although there is a feeling that there is something left to be desired when it comes to his production.
Some have criticized current Chargers head coach Brandon Staley for not getting the job done in terms of play-calling.
Although L.A. has one of the most talented rosters around, it has underperformed, as it has a 4-3 record and is coming off a 37-23 destruction at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks.
In addition, its defense has been poor, despite some high-profile additions to that side of the ball.
When Payton was in New Orleans, he had Drew Brees, a future Hall of Fame signal-caller, by his side, and through the years, the team always had one of the NFL’s top offenses.
In 2009, it all came together for the Saints, as they won the Super Bowl by defeating Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
There has been speculation that if the Chargers miss the playoffs or otherwise continue to underperform, Staley could be fired, and if Payton wants to come out west, he could be the coach they need to finally win it all.
