Miguel Cabrera is on the cusp of history.
The Detroit Tigers legend is one hit away from joining the 3,000-hit club and being only one of two active players in Major League Baseball to have joined the club, the other being Albert Pujols.
But when “Miggy” reaches 3,000 hits, the milestone will only be an inkling of an untouchable MLB record.
When Cabrera finally picks up that historic hit, he will be the only active player in all of baseball to have reached 3,000 career hits, hit at least 500 home runs, and win a Triple Crown.
Not even Pujols will be able to say that he is a part of such a club.
Incredible Miguel Cabrera note from @jaysonst on @MLBNetwork a moment ago: He’ll be the only player in @MLB history with 3,000 hits, 500 home runs, and a Triple Crown. Simply remarkable. @MLBStats @tigers https://t.co/jrs7v577S6

Miggy The Legend
This will only further solidify Cabrera’s place among the all-time greats in baseball history.
Again, he will be the only active player who can say that he has reached 3,000 hits, won a Triple Crown, and gone deep at least 500 times.
Cabrera is certain to be a first ballot Hall-of-Famer when he finally decides to hang them up and call it a career.
But he is just one hit away from not only joining the 3,000-hit club, but to join the all-exclusive 3,000/500 group with a Triple Crown to his name.
Cabrera just doesn’t stop hitting.
He is one of the most beloved players, yet feared hitters throughout the game of baseball and its long history.
You can bet fans will be filing into Comerica Park with a little extra pep in their step as they wait to see if their superstar can pick up that historic hit and forever etch his name into the history books.
It could happen anytime and all it takes is one more hit.
