Detroit Tigers slugger and legend Miguel Cabrera had himself a night against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday.
“Miggy”, as he is often referred to as, picked up three hits as the Tigers outlasted the Royals by a final score of 4-2.
But there was a little more to it than just a three-hit night for Cabrera.
The three hits Cabrera picked up against the Royals put him at 2,994 total for his career.
That is another way of saying that if Cabrera picks up six more hits, he will reach 3,000 before it’s all said and done.
Early on in 2022, Cabrera is pretty close, so it’s hard to imagine him not hitting the 3,000 mark this year.

Miggy Chasing History
What a legendary career Cabrera has had.
Soon, he’ll reach baseball immortality.
For his career, Cabrera has hit for a .310 average with 502 home runs and 1,807 RBIs.
He’s also got a .919 career OPS in 9,647 at-bats.
He’s not far off from reaching history.
This man has been around since 2003 and has put on a show ever since he arrived in the big leagues.
He has incredible power and plate discipline, which already has him in some Hall-of-Fame company, and even at 38 years old, he appears to be far from through.
He is one of the most feared right-handed hitters the game has ever known and soon he’ll reach a milestone that few across the game have ever accomplished.
3,000 hits is some rare company to be in, and he’s super close to joining the list of players that have reached that milestone.
We’ll see how long it takes Cabrera to reach this all-important milestone.
It shouldn’t be much longer now, as he has already built a Hall-of-Fame resume.
