Miguel Andujar is a guy with great potential who is getting lost in the New York Yankees system.
After a hot start to his career in 2018, when he hit 27 home runs, drove in 92, and hit .297, he has been unable to find any traction in the Yankees organization, dealing with injuries and inconsistencies that have kept him off the field or down in the minors.
Recently, Andujar was demoted to Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes/Barre, after which he requested a trade.
However, according to Jon Heyman on Twitter, Andujar isn’t going to pull a James Harden and is still staying sharp and ready to go if his number is called.

Staying Professional
Andujar has every reason to be frustrated.
Here’s a guy with great potential who has essentially been squeezed out of a spot.
He looked to be a valuable piece for their future not too long ago.
Now, he doesn’t really have a fit with the Yankees.
But at least he’s staying sharp and prepared.
It’d be one thing if he decided to stop showing up and wasn’t prepared to play.
He’s at least not quitting or giving up.
But it still has to be frustrating for him, knowing he’s not going to get his shot with the Yankees.
And it’s not like he’s bad mouthed the organization in any way.
He just knows that he’s not going to get a chance if he stays in New York.
Surely, there will be other teams who could use him and find a role for him.
Which team that will be is not known at this point, obviously, but he knows that there will be other places where he’ll get an opportunity to show what kind of player he truly is.
If 2018 was any indication, then he could be a special player.
