Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is not hiding his goals for the 2022 season.
First, he would like to break the single-season sack record of 22.5 shared by Michael Strahan and reigning Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt.
Then, he would like to have more interceptions than his teammate, cornerback Trevon Diggs.
Despite being a rookie, Parsons did it all for the Cowboys’ defense.
He switched to defensive end while DeMarcus Lawrence was out and had 13 sacks by the end of the regular season.
He also had 64 solo tackles and three forced fumbles.
Those numbers earned him a spot at the 2021 First-Team All-Pro and the Pro Bowl.
Parsons was also the easy choice for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
But aside from his personal goals, he sees his collaboration with Diggs as something on par with an elite defensive duo.

In an interview with USA Today, Parsons said, “I think (Diggs and I) can become (Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey) or even better if we learn together and stick together.”
After playing together for one season, they could be on the right path to match Donald and Ramsey.
Like Parsons, Diggs also earned his first inclusion to the First-Team All-Pro after leading the league in interceptions with 11.
He returned two of those picks for touchdowns and he also added 43 solo tackles.
Will Parsons And Diggs Match Donald And Ramsey?
Individual and team accolades are the best way to quantify an NFL player’s success.
Therefore, Parsons and Diggs should also win a Super Bowl together because Donald and Ramsey have achieved that feat.
Meanwhile, Diggs needs only two First-Team All-Pro selections to tie Ramsey, granted that the latter doesn’t get another one.
On the other hand, Parsons needs six more to match Donald.
However, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year will likely have another All-Pro selection in 2022, making it tougher for Parsons to catch up.
Still, Parsons and Diggs have a long way to go and their tandem could blossom into one of the league’s best.
