Somebody in the heavens must have been listening to Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons during the 2021 NFL Draft.
The former Penn State standout never failed to declare his preference of going to the NFL’s most valuable franchise.
His wish came true when the Cowboys selected him with the 12th overall pick.
However, he did not stay on his dream for long and started to work on his game.
After his rookie season, the team has a defensive ace in him.
Aside from becoming a Pro Bowler, Parsons also gained a First-Team All-Pro selection and Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
He also took over from DeMarcus Lawrence and played well at defensive end.
In 16 games played, Parsons finished with 64 solo tackles, 13 sacks, three forced fumbles, and three passes defended.
But despite his initial success, he is not satisfied as he laid out his goal for 2022.
Micah Parsons is coming for the NFL sack record next season:
"Yeah, 15's like the minimum… But definitely 23 is that goal, to break the record."

The CBS Sports Twitter account shared, “Micah Parsons is coming for the NFL sack record next season: ‘Yeah, 15’s like the minimum. But definitely, 23 is that goal, to break the record.'”
The minimum he declared is just two sacks more than his 2021 total.
But as his goals get higher, achieving them also gets tougher because he will be a marked man.
His game is not a secret anymore and their opponents will always account for him on every snap.
Parsons Can Lock In A Lucrative Contract Extension
If he ends up breaking the record shared by Michael Strahan and reigning Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt, the Cowboys wouldn’t think twice in offering him the contract extension he deserves.
He can sign that deal after his third NFL season, the length of which could make him a Cowboy for at least a decade.
With Parsons in place, the team can focus on building other essential parts of their defense.
