The New York Mets have had an incredible start of the season; this time, a positive one.
For years, fans have associated the Mets with failure and disappointment, even popularizing the #lolmets hashtag.
But that doesn’t appear to be the case this year: this one looks like an elite team, with resilience, talent all around, and the right manager.
The team is off to a 14-5 start after winning on Tuesday night.
That is the best record in the major leagues, ahead of the 13-5 San Francisco Giants.
The Mets have won their last three games and eight of their last 10, and are third in MLB with a +38 run differential.
Things are going smoothly in Queens.
So smoothly that this is the first time the Mets have taken their first six series of a season.
“This is the only Mets team in franchise history to win its first six series of the year,” MLB.com beat writer Anthony DiComo tweeted late on Tuesday.

The Mets Are Looking For A Series Sweep
They won the second game of their series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, and are aiming for the sweep today.
The most amazing thing is that the Mets are doing this without Jacob deGrom, currently out with a stress reaction on his right scapula.
He is expected back at some point in the first half, but it could be closer to the All-Star Game than May or June, depending on his recovery and progress.
But the rest of his rotation mates have been stellar: Max Scherzer, Chris Bassitt, Carlos Carrasco, Tylor Megill, and David Peterson have all contributed for the Mets’ first-place start.
And Francisco Lindor, their star shortstop, is having a stellar season, hitting .274/.365/.493 with four homers and three stolen bases.
Jeff McNeil, Brandon Nimmo, Eduardo Escobar, and other hitters have helped, as well.
Overall, the team is looking quite solid, and fans are dreaming big.
