The New York Mets are not getting the offensive production they have hoped for this season.
Some of the players they were counting on to be quality starters are not playing well.
One of those hitters is designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach.
He is having the worst season of his career as the primary DH in New York.
Vogelbach is hitting .209 with two home runs and 14 RBI in 46 games.
Yet, Mets manager Buck Showalter does not seem to be concerned.
According to SNY Mets, Showalter knows the track record of Vogelbach and has confidence he will turn it around.
Buck Showalter pointed to Daniel Vogelbach's track record when asked if he has any concerns about the DH's struggles at the plate.

Vogelbach had a solid last season playing with the Pirates and Mets.
He hit .238 with 18 home runs and 59 RBI, to go along with 73 walks.
That is the type of production Vogelbach needs to get back to.
As Showalter mentioned, Vogelbach is not the only hitter struggling.
The team is 18th in runs scored with 262 and their team batting average is only .239.
While Showalter is trying to stay confident in Vogelbach, if he does not turn it around soon he may be replaced.
The Mets have spent too much money to not be competitive this year.
Also, with the trade deadline slowly approaching, some deals might need to be made.
New York is 30-31 on the season and sits 6.5 games out of first place in the NL East.
They need their whole roster to step up and hit better.
Or the Mets could fall out of NL East contention very soon.
