Mets Fans Getting Excited For Sunday With A Perfect Star Wars Meme

The New York Mets and their fans have a lot to be excited about entering the 2022 season.

They have a starting rotation that features perhaps the best one-two punch in all of baseball, that being Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer.

In fact, in Sunday’s spring training exhibition matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals, both Scherzer and deGrom will see action.

SNY, the Mets’ TV network, is getting excited about it.

On Twitter they posted a nice Star Wars meme that sums it up perfectly.

The meme features Sith Lord Darth Maul from The Phantom Menace with a Mets hat photoshopped onto his head, igniting both blades of his double-bladed lightsaber, with one end having deGrom’s name written over it, and the other having Scherzer’s name written over it.

Double Trouble

It may just be spring training, but it has to be exciting for Mets fans to have a chance to show off Scherzer and deGrom in the same game.

And what better way to celebrate than with a meme from Star Wars, the greatest movie franchise of all time.

Of course, when Maul activated that second blade, we all knew that meant double trouble when watching the movie, and such is the case when Scherzer and deGrom are pitching in the same game.

That’s going to be fun for Mets fans to watch.

Again, it may just be a spring training game which people really could not care less about, but it’s got to be exciting to have a chance to watch the best two pitchers in all of baseball tow the rubber in the same game.

Who wouldn’t be excited about that?

And what better way to show your excitement than with Darth Maul and his dual-bladed weapon?
