It’s the end of the line for the New York Mets.
With last night’s 6-0 loss to the San Diego Padres, the Mets were eliminated from the postseason as their 101-win campaign went down the sewer.
To make matters worse, Mets fans didn’t exactly show a whole lot of support last night.
Despite the Mets having forced a Game 3 and putting themselves in a position to reach the NLDS for the first time since 2015, there were plenty of empty seats at Citi Field.
Game 3 drew a grand total of 39,241 fans, which was the lowest total for any of the three games.
It also ended up not even being a sellout.

Lacking Support
That’s not what you want from your fans in a winner-take-all game, especially in the postseason, and especially after such a dominant season for the Mets.
But the fans didn’t come out to support their Mets.
Instead, there were plenty of empty seats and it was quite a sparse crowd.
And so, the Mets’ season ended with nothing more than a whimper, as they were held to just one hit by San Diego thanks to a dominant outing by Joe Musgrove.
And now, there’s a chance that Jacob deGrom may have pitched his final game in a Mets uniform in Game 2.
At the very least, the Mets could have benefitted from some fan support.
For as big as New York City is, and by extension, the fanbase of the Mets, it was a poor showing on Sunday night.
The Padres will be moving on to play the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS starting tomorrow night at Dodger Stadium.
The Mets on the other hand, will try and unpack what went wrong this series.
