There’s a feeling in the air in New York this morning.
Both the New York Mets and the New York Yankees are playing their best baseball to start the 2022 season.
The Yankees head out to Kansas City to take on the Kansas City Royals this weekend in a three-game series.
The Bronx Bombers come into the series having won six in a row.
The Mets return home after taking two out of three from the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
They play host to their NL East division rivals, the Philadelphia Phillies.
In fact, if you look at the standings, you’ll see that both the Mets and Yankees have the best records in their respective leagues.

World Series Preview?
These two teams are red-hot and playing their best baseball to start 2022.
Perhaps these two teams are on an October collision course.
A subway series in the World Series is something that has not taken place since 2000.
The Yankees won that series in five games, putting the final touches on their three-peat.
This rivalry is a big one.
Normally it feels one-sided in the Yankees’ favor, but now, nobody can be 100% sure about that.
The Mets have the best record in all of baseball thanks in large part to their starting pitching.
The additions of Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt have paid dividends, while other starters such as Tylor Megill dominate.
But if this keeps up, we could see a Yankees-Mets World Series for the first time since 2000.
Wouldn’t that be a treat?
The two teams from the biggest baseball city in America on the biggest stage, competing for the title.
We’ll see how things shake out come October.
