Since returning from the injured list, Max Scherzer has seemingly not skipped a beat.
The New York Mets ace made his return to the rotation on Tuesday last week against the Cincinnati Reds.
An oblique injury is what landed him on the IL in the first place.
But Mad Max is back and is dominating again.
Since returning, he has thrown 13 innings, struck out 20 batters, allowed just five hits and one run, and also has not walked a batter.
SNY, the TV home of the Mets, posted Scherzer’s stats since returning from the injured list on Twitter, along with a picture of him pitching in a game with the Mets..

Guess Who’s Back?
Underestimate Scherzer at your own peril.
Now that he’s back from his injury, he’s more determined than ever to try and go out there and dominate.
That’s always his goal, but everyone knows that he has been itching to get back out there and show the baseball world what he’s made of.
In the aftermath of returning from an injury, one can only imagine that facing Scherzer would be an even scarier task, especially since he’s been out for a while and always pitches with those killer instincts.
Now, those instincts have been ratcheted up since he’s been out and he’s ready to go again.
But those stats are insane, and they go to show why you can never underestimate Mad Max.
When healthy, he’s still pitching at an All-Star level and is coming through when the Mets need him the most.
We’ll see if he can keep this dominance up.
Then again, it would be foolish to expect anything less from Scherzer.
