While putting together the roster and planning out the season, the New York Mets probably envisioned themselves playing at this point of the year.
They had a marquee roster and spent a lot of money and resources over the offseason with the idea of reaching the World Series for the first time since 2015.
It wasn’t meant to be, however, as the team fell in the Wild Card round to the San Diego Padres.
One of those offseason additions, Max Scherzer, lost crucial games near the end of the regular season against the Atlanta Braves and one of the postseason contests against the Padres.
He is a fierce competitor, so the losses were probably hard to digest for him.
Now that he has taken some much-needed time off, the pitcher is spending some quality time with his family and enjoying Halloween.
In fact, he and his family dressed up as characters of a famous movie sequel.
“The Scherzer’s went all out for Halloween (via IG/emaysway),” SNY tweeted.

Creative Costumes
In case you were wondering (it took us a couple of seconds, too, don’t worry), those are characters from Men in Black 2.
Scherzer’s wife is the main villain, and the Mets’ ace is her sidekick.
The elegant kids are MiB agents.
Nothing beats quality family time, not even a Game 7 in the World Series.
Scherzer, still under contract after signing a three-year, $130 million deal before the season, will likely try again in 2023, as the Mets will come back hungrier than ever.
They have a lot of competition in MLB, the National League, and even in their own division, with the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies both being top squads.
The Mets, however, are just as strong and will want to get some revenge next season.
