Max Fried is back in action tonight.
After being placed on the 7-Day Concussion injured list, Fried is making his return tonight for the Atlanta Braves.
The 28-year-old left-hander will take the ball in the Braves’ series finale against the New York Mets and will try and lift the defending champions to a series win.
On August 6 at Citi Field, Fried fell to the ground and hit his head while attempting to make a throw to the plate.
Though he wasn’t placed on the injured list immediately, the Braves eventually put their ace on the concussion list last Thursday.

Fried Returns From Concussion
It was certainly a scary situation for Fried.
Fortunately for the Braves, they have their ace back tonight and will send him to the mound in hopes of earning a key series victory over the Mets.
The play where Fried was injured was an awkward play, as he had stumbled slightly on his way to covering first base, and when the throw got away, he had to make an off-balanced throw to the plate.
The momentum of the play caused Fried to fall and hit his head.
But it’s good to see that he’s okay now after taking such a hard fall.
The Braves will need him to be on his game tonight.
They sit 4.5 games back of the Mets in the National League East following last night’s loss.
For the Braves, there is no better pitcher to send to the mound to try and stop the bleeding after a loss than Fried.
In 22 starts this year, Fried is 10-4 with a 2.60 ERA.
He was selected to the NL All-Star squad last month.
Tonight, he’ll make his return and will try to shut down a powerful Mets lineup.
