The competition between the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns is intense, heated, and only getting hotter and hotter.
Things came to a head on Sunday afternoon.
The Mavericks were able to overtake the Suns for the second time in a row.
That evened the series at 2-2.
However, the victory for Dallas was tainted a little bit after the game because of some unruly fans.
Statement from Mavericks: “The Dallas Mavericks are aware of an incident between a fan and the family of Chris Paul. It was unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated. The Mavericks, along with American Airlines Center, swiftly removed the fan from today’s game.” https://t.co/jGl6zxpijs

It was reported that some Dallas supporters harassed the family of Chris Paul during the game.
In fact, witnesses say that Paul’s mother had hands placed on her before things were defused.
Following this, the Mavericks released a statement about the incident:
“The Dallas Mavericks are aware of an incident between a fan and the family of Chris Paul. It was unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated. The Mavericks, along with American Airlines Center, swiftly removed the fan from today’s game.”
It’s good that things were resolved quickly but why does this seem to keep happening?
“Unacceptable Behavior”
It seems like it’s getting more common for NBA fans to get too rowdy or wild in the stands.
There have been multiple occasions of fans being kicked out for saying offensive things to players.
However, actual physical interactions between fans and players (or their families) haven’t happened much.
Why is this happening more often?
Some feel that the public’s prohibition from public gatherings for two years has caused people to forget what’s acceptable.
Whatever the reasons, it needs to end.
No one should be harassed at an NBA game.
It’s good that the Mavericks and American Airlines Arena worked fast to stop this.
Hopefully, they punish the fans to spread the word that this isn’t acceptable.
