The Los Angeles Lakers craved a win over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.
It’s no secret that NBA referees often tend to favor the home team, and it’s become evident that superstars often get more calls to go their way.
LeBron James is a prime example of this trend, as he never gets called for an offensive foul when driving to the rim.
It’s just the way it is.
Also, younger players like Luka Doncic need to earn their stripes before they get that superstar whistle.
His youth, combined with his constant tendency to complain and get in the officials’ faces, could lead the referees to swallow the whistle multiple times during a game.
That’s why Mavericks owner Mark Cuban took to Twitter to complain about officiating during his team’s road win over the Lakers:
“Stan van Gundy is absolutely right. Worst officiated game. Luka gets no respect. Unreal,” Cuban tweeted.

The league will most definitely fine the business mogul for his comments, but he’s never let that stop him from giving everybody a piece of his mind.
Ironically, the biggest Luka disrespect might as well come from within his organization.
Cuban and the Mavericks let Jalen Brunson walk away and have failed to give Doncic the supporting cast he needs to live up to his untapped potential.
So, maybe if the former Real Madrid star wants to get more whistles to go his way, he’ll look to force his way out to a bigger market instead of waiting for the Mavs to figure things out.
