After a trip to the Western Conference Finals, the Dallas Mavericks appeared to be a team on the rise in the NBA, with Luka Doncic cementing his name as one of the best players in the league.
Coming into last season, the Mavericks had high hopes of having a repeat performance, even though the team saw star guard Jalen Brunson sign with the New York Knicks.
Unfortunately for the Mavericks, the 2022-23 NBA season was a forgettable one, to say the least.
Dallas couldn’t contend with the best of the best in the Western Conference, as they clearly missed having Brunson playing alongside Doncic.
In an effort to turn things around, the team traded for superstar guard Kyrie Irving, but the team still struggled and ultimately missed the NBA playoffs entirely.
During the offseason, the Mavericks are trying to bounce back in more ways than one, with the team re-signing Irving and making $20 million worth of upgrades to the American Airlines Center in Dallas, via the team’s Twitter account.

The biggest thing Dallas needed to change in the offseason was the roster by putting more talent around Doncic, but addressing areas of need in the arena will definitely be something the fans appreciate as well.
Along with bringing Irving back into the fold, the new jumbotron at the American Airlines Center looks impressive, with a lot more fans able to get a good view of the game while paying their hard-earned money to watch games in person, even with the team struggling like it did last season.
