Carolina Panthers fans are not happy with head coach Matt Rhule.
The team fell to 5-10 on Sunday in an ugly 32-6 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
That marks five straight losses and fans were treated to the sight of Sam Darnold making his return to replace Cam Newton.
Hope has been lost among fans and that led to chants for Rhule to be fired from the home crowd.
He was of course asked about his job security and his view of the “process” taking place in Carolina.
Rhule answered with a comparison that will have plenty of fans shaking their heads.
#Panthers HC Matt Rhule: "I believe it's 1000 percent working, I just know no one can see it and I apologize. As I tell our team all the time, it took Jay-Z seven years. He had to start his own agency to become an overnight sensation. It takes time."

The head coach is comparing his team’s current plight to Jay-Z building his career as a rapper and ultimately launching Roc-A-Fella Records.
Is this a fair comparison?
Rhule Is Clinging To Anything
NFL coaches are known for saying out-of-the-box things to motivate their teams.
Trying to compare this group to Jay-Z is a stretch, to say the least.
Rhule is forgetting that he is not in the college game anymore.

NFL teams don’t need to build and build for years just to be competitive again.
Sometimes the right coach or quarterback can lead to a drastic turnaround.
Just look at what Joe Burrow is doing in Cincinnati.
Rhule has the right mindset in that he is focusing on the bigger picture.
The problem is that NFL coaches are not given much patience and losing five games in a row after signing Newton is a bad look.
The Panthers are now stuck with Darnold in 2022 because of his fifth-year option and that may just mean Rhule gets one more year to prove he can win.
But if he is indeed kept aboard, don’t expect fans to believe he will be the next Jay-Z.
