Freddie Freeman who?

The Atlanta Braves took matters into their own hands and made a blockbuster trade to acquire star first baseman Matt Olson from the Oakland A’s.

He was promptly extended for eight years and $168 million.

Olson is already making Braves fans forget about Freeman, who after the trade departed for the Los Angeles Dodgers on a six-year $162 million contract.

On Thursday in the Braves’ spring training exhibition game against the Tampa Bay Rays, Olson showed the fans just what he can do, taking a big swing at a ball right down the pipe and sending it well over the outfield wall and out of the stadium.

Long Gone

What a shot!

Olson has tremendous power and is exactly what the Braves need.

Atlanta still looks like a major threat to repeat as World Series champions and Olson is there to stay and make it happen for Braves fans.

Olson has elite power rivaled by few in the major leagues and if that is any indication of what the 2022 season has in store for him and the Braves, then it’s going to be a fun ride in Atlanta as the team looks to defend its World Series title.

Who’s to say that ball has even landed yet?

The Braves’ tweet suggests that it possibly hasn’t.

But all jokes aside, Olson is a major addition for the Braves and with Ronald Acuna Jr. on his way back to join him in a lineup that also features Ozzie Albies, Marcell Ozuna, and Austin Riley, things are looking pretty exciting in Atlanta.

It’s a good time to be a Braves fan.

Now we’ll see if Atlanta can do it again and win another title.
