Fans of the Chicago Bears have put a lot of blame on Matt Nagy and his handling of Justin Fields.
It was under Nagy when the Bears took Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft.
However, fans felt the former head coach was a failure with his rookie quarterback during that season.
While fans still trash the former head coach, he took the time to talk about how he handled Fields.
When asked about if he had any regrets with Fields, he said nothing about regretting playing him.

However, he talked about the amount of sacks Fields took against the Cleveland Browns and how it hurt “a young quarterback’s confidence.”
While he talks about wanting to do everything right to develop the young quarterback, he failed his quarterback.
The play calling from Nagy during that game was awful and led to Fields having a horrible game.
There weren’t any improvements to the scheme that season.
While he talks about developing the right scheme in his interview, he didn’t do this to help Fields.
While he doesn’t say he regrets his decision to start the young quarterback, he says, “it just didn’t go the way we wanted it to.”
However, his decisions and play calling were the exact reason behind things falling apart for Nagy in Chicago.
Because of this, Fields suffered during his first season with the Bears.
While Nagy never uses the word regret, fans regret having him as the coach for Fields during his rookie season.
