The Miami Marlins may not be the strongest team in the National League East division.
However, they might be one of the most exciting squads in the NL.
The Marlins are young and they are improving as a team: their pitching foundation is actually quite good, and some position players in the organization are starting to take steps forward.
At 24-30, they are still far from the New York Mets (11.5 games behind), the NL East leaders.
But they are closer to the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies than everybody realizes.
On Wednesday, the earned an incredible walk-off victory against the Washington Nationals.
“𝗝𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗦 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞𝗦 𝗢𝗙𝗙: Jesús Aguilar singles up the middle, drives in Willians Astudillo, and the Marlins win 2-1 in 10 innings!!!!!!!!” Bally Sports Florida tweeted, with a clip of the thrilling moment.

The Marlins Are An Exciting Team
In the bottom of the tenth inning, Aguilar drove in fellow Venezuelan Astudillo to take the win.
Just watching Astudillo sprinting towards home plate is an event on its own right: now imagine seeing him do it with the game on the line.
It was an exciting win by an exciting team.
Too bad the win didn’t go to Sandy Alcantara, who might just be the best pitcher in MLB right now.
Alcantara pitched nine scoreless frames and struck out six Nationals hitters before handing the ball to the bullpen.
Are the Marlins good enough to fight for a place in the playoffs?
It may not happen this year, but it’s not impossible.
And even if it doesn’t happen in 2022, next year should be really interesting in Miami, as most of the young stars will have another year of experience and more prospects will join them in The Show.
