This season hasn’t been great for the Orlando Magic but there was cause for celebration on Monday night because one of their star players was finally back.
After nearly 14 months on the sidelines, Markelle Fultz made his return to the NBA during that Magic’s victory over the Indiana Pacers.
Fultz has been out for over a year because of a torn left ACL.
It was great to see the young player back on the court and he was obviously feeling himself and was excited to play again.

Fultz played for 16 minutes off the bench and created 10 points and 6 assists.
While those numbers aren’t off-the-charts, the fact that he is doing that after more than a year of not playing basketball says a lot and shows much promise too.
Full-Court Fultz
It’s been a rough few years for the former first overall draft pick.
The young man had a lot of potential when he entered the league but that was almost immediately derailed by injuries.
However, when he is healthy, Fultz has shown that he is a very special NBA pro.
There was always a hope that Fultz would come back and play to the best of his abilities finally.
Monday night’s game suggests that could happen.
The Magic need all the help they can get.
The team is currently dead-last in the Eastern Conference with a 15-47 record.
There is no chance of them making the playoffs this year so the return of Fultz is more about laying the groundwork for next year.
The hope is that with Fultz and the rest of the team healthy – along with a few good draft picks – perhaps next season could be a good one for the Magic.
