It’s no secret that Julio Rodriguez has taken the Seattle Mariners and the rest of the baseball world by storm.

He’s burst onto the scene and earned himself a chance to become an all-time great.

He’s already the favorite to win the American League Rookie of the Year Award and he showed why yesterday, as he hit his 18th home run of the season to put the Mariners ahead of the Texas Rangers, where they would stay and hold on for the sweep.

Mariners ace Marco Gonzales had some high praise for Rodriguez after yesterday’s game, saying that Rodriguez is the best player he’s ever played with.

Marco Gonzales on Julio Rodríguez:

“I think he's the best player I've ever seen. He’s for sure the best player I've ever played with.”

Gonzales Praises J-Rod

This is saying something, considering that Gonzales has played with some great players.

He played alongside Matt Holliday, Yadier Molina, and Adam Wainwright during his days with the St. Louis Cardinals.

In Seattle, he’s playing alongside Jesse Winker, Kyle Lewis, J.P. Crawford. Eugenio Suarez, and other great players.

He also played alongside Ichiro Suzuki for a little bit.

But Rodriguez takes the cake for Gonzales, and this is some very high praise.

Rodriguez is already turning himself into a superstar at the Major League level.

As stated previously, he’s on pace to earn the AL Rookie of the Year Award if he keeps this up.

This guy can hit.

He’s got great energy and is an exciting young player.

He’s one of the many young stars who are leading us into the next great era of baseball with new superstars and generational talents.

But Gonzales offered some nice praise, which is saying a lot, considering he’s played alongside some great ballplayers over his career.

And Rodriguez is just getting started.
