In late August, MLB announced its official spring training schedule for the 2023 season.
We haven’t had any baseball to watch or enjoy – well, the winter leagues can be quite entertaining but you catch our drift – since the World Series ended.
Fans are desperate for pitchers and catchers to report to camp, and that day is inching closer.
Actual games, however, is the one thing they are really missing.
Those will come starting on Friday, February 24.

The Athletic’s senior writer Corey Brock pointed out to the fact that we are a little over three weeks away from live, spring training baseball.
That San Diego Padres – Seattle Mariners game he is highlighting has some history behind it and will be an attractive affair between two bonafide contenders.
The Mariners broke a 21-year playoff drought last year and scared the eventual champion Houston Astros in the AL Division Series, while the Padres made it all the way to the NL Championship Series and represented a big test for the Philadelphia Phillies.
MLB will have its regular season start on March 30.
All 30 clubs will be playing that day, so fans can sit in front of the couch at noon and get up about 12 hours after that.
We are just a few days away from pitchers and catchers reporting, so we can officially say that baseball is around the corner.
Fans will even get to enjoy the World Baseball Classic from March 8-21 as a high-quality appetizer before the main dish: the 2023 MLB season.
We can’t wait for both events to start.
