San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado has been playing MLB baseball since he was 19 years old.
Back then, he was a young shortstop for the Baltimore Orioles, and he was part of several postseason appearances with the O’s before they entered a dark phase.
He is now an accomplished 30-year-old third baseman on his birthday, looking to start what hopefully is the second half of his storied career.
Manny Machado turns 30 today. His resume:
— .282/341/490
— .831 OPS/125 OPS+
— .352 wOBA/122 wRC+— 1510 Hits
— 574 XBHs
— 263 HRs
— 797 RBIs
— 103 DRS
— 13 OAA— 49.1 rWAR
— 43.5 fWARManny now begins the second half of his illustrious career. @PadresMuse pic.twitter.com/jyQ0yaVzlt

Being a teenage phenom and going on to be a consistent, reliable performer has made Machado a true Hall of Fame prospect these days.
That’s not a coincidence: he has worked a lot, and he has posted incredible numbers.
No matter how you see it, he has contributed a lot to his teams: the O’s, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and now the Padres.
He Is A Strong Hall Of Fame Candidate Already
According to Baseball Reference, he has accumulated 49.1 Wins Above Replacement (WAR), and FanGraphs has him at 43.5.
In any case, his WAR output is a fantastic one for a 30-year-old.
He is closing in on some Hall of Famers with a similar output, and he still has several years of great production ahead of him.
So far, he has slashed .282/.341/.490 with 263 home runs, 788 runs, and 797 RBI.
He also accumulated 1,511 hits as of Wednesday afternoon.
If he remains healthy, like he has for almost all of his career, he has a true shot at 450 home runs, 1,000 runs, 1,000 RBI, and at least 2,750 hits.
Those are Hall of Fame numbers right there, and if we consider his defensive excellence, he has all the ingredients for future induction.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves and let him enjoy his MLB career.
He is currently in his prime, and is having one of his finest seasons.
The Padres are surely happy they signed him to a long-term deal.
