The Los Angeles Lakers have to play a couple of more games before their season is officially over but for all intents and purposes, it’s already done.
Earlier this week, the Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs after a troubled, rocky season that can only be described as a disaster.
Now that things are wrapped up, it’s time to move on and look ahead.
It’s also time to make sure nothing like this ever happens again.
Malik Monk on learning from the Lakers' disappointing season: "We just gotta build from this and never let this happen again."

That’s what Lakers player Malik Monk thinks.
Following yet another loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, Monk talked about the mentality moving forward.
“We just gotta build from this and never let this happen again.”
No one is going to argue with Monk’s words.
But how do the Lakers plan to “build from this”?
What’s Next?
Everyone within the Lakers knows that some major things need to change.
The problem is they don’t have a lot of room or ability to make the necessary changes.
With Russell Westbrook‘s massive contract on the books, the team will have a hard time finding a suitable team willing to take him.
They don’t have a whole lot of other trade assets aside from him.
Meanwhile, the team will also have to replace their coach because Frank Vogel’s days with the Lakers are numbered.
There is a lot to do in the next few months and almost all of it has to go right in order for the Lakers to be back in playoff contention next year.
The Lakers will have to make some huge moves to get things back on track.
But none of these moves will be easy to do.
That means that the team may look markedly different when next season starts – or it might look suspiciously the same.
